Diving in the clear blue water of Tioman, with the house of reefs giving life to most marine animals, exploring the vast rainforest with waterfalls and mountains surrounded by fogs and clouds, or just simply enjoy exposing up to the sun with the white sand forming and relaxing between your toes. You can really find this place as a very wonderful and intoxicating place and may even consider it as your heaven on Earth. Tioman is actually a perfect place to dive in. The best season to dive is usually from the month of March to the month of November because the northeast torrential rain starts from the mid November up to February. Chebeh Island South The South of the island has similar reef and marine life like Chebeh Island North, but with fewer rock boulders. At the beginning of the dive you swim over a sloping hard coral reef before you come to a small wall with lots of resident nudibranchs. After this you reach some small rock boulders which are beautifully covered in soft corals, and some rather narrow swim throughs. Towards the last 10 minutes of the dive you reach a large staghorn coral field with good chances to spot hawksbill turtles, moray eels and cuttlefish. Labas Island This island resembles a piece of Swiss cheese due to its abundance of caverns. Labas has two dive sites to offer, the head or tail with both being equal challenging and simply fascinating. Swimming through the labyrinth of swim throughs or glide along the dense coral garden at 18m which ever you choose both will leave a lasting memory. Labas with its overgrown rock formation makes it an easy dive, just lazily swim along the fan and soft coral or visit the remains of a Japanese fishing boat which is a great place for snorkeling. The resident marine life you can find here are angel fish, puffer fish, barracudas, titan trigger, rainbow runners, butterfly fish, napoleon wrasse, nurse sharks, black tip sharks, stingrays, moray eels, lion fish and a good variety of nudibranches. Bahara Rock Bahara Rock is one of the most favorite dive sites in Tioman. It highlights a spectacular underwater garden that includes soft and hard colorful corals with nice formations, huge barrel sponges, sheer rock pinnacles, sea fans, and many attractive underwater species. It is a famous dive site for divers and underwater photographers as well. The marine life here includes many common reef fish such as the emperor angel fish, wrasses, soldierfish, surgeonfish, sweetlips, puffer fish, moray eels, porcupine fish, white eyed morays and giant morays. During strong currents, there are bigger fish like the barracuda. Around the deeper rocks, reef sharks are usually seen especially in the mornings. Sting rays, on the other hand, are commonly seen at the sandy bottom of the reef. Pulau Jahat Pulau Jahat is another spectacular rocky dive site in Tioman. The name ‘Pulau Jahat’ means Naughty Island. With depths varying from 5 to 25 meters, the dive here is exciting and extremely challenging during strong currents. This rocky island is surrounded by large boulders that create tunnels to swim through plus caves and corridors. The tour around the caves is one of a kind. Torches are necessary to witness the beautiful scenery inside the caves. There are also coral garden beds here that are really nice to see. The marine life is simply amazing especially for beginners. It includes jacks, barracudas, common tropical reef fish plus the must-see sharks. The ship has been launched in April 2011 and is a solid 36m steel long range diving support vessel. She is very stable, strong, and runs on twin 700hp Cummins engine. All Captains, boat crew and dive crew have many years of experience in the waters surrounding the Layang Layang & Spratly Islands. She carries 2x 450 liter L&W compressors; one with air cooler and a Nitrox membrane system. She also carried 20 ton of fresh water and 2 water makers. With 2 large support chase boats, you can be assured of your safety diving in strong current condition.
